The goal of my work is to help us better understand the strategies people use when trying to expand others' sense of geopolitical belonging, as well as the challenges and obstacles they often face. Fundamental underlying questions that drive my research are: What motivates people to try to create communities beyond national borders? Who gets involved in movements that attempt to radically alter international governance, and why? What leads people to identify with and/or disassociate from certain communities?
